Who are the Food Police?
The food police are thoughts we have have that monitor our eating choices. They are a result of a culture that worships thinness and health. Our bodies become our god when we believe the media messages that tell us our food choices have the power to make us “good” or “bad”. These messages from the media, combined with inappropriate comments from others, create strongholds in our minds that the enemy uses to run a constant stream of lies through our heads.
How do I challenge the Food Police?
As Christians, we can rejoice knowing that through the Holy Spirit we have the power to take every thought captive to obey Christ (see 1 Corinthians 10:3-5). Challenging the food police requires that we become aware of our thoughts, evaluate them, and hold on to the truthful thoughts and crush the lies.
